How Formeca's box forming machines work?

Closing with hot-melt adhesive:

The machines create boxes from pre-cut corrugated board blanks, using a hot-melt adhesive and a forming tool. The blanks are transferred to the forming tool from a magazine. During transfer, adhesive is applied to the flaps and a plunger pushes the blank into the forming shaft, where the flaps are then fastened in place, giving the box its final form.

Mechanical closing:

When an adhesive is not used, boxes are formed by means of a mechanical locking device. Blanks are transferred to a forming station from the magazine. The flaps are folded and pushed into their forming shaft, where the flaps are pressed into place.

The box-opening and bottom-closing device:

The blanks are glued from the sides at the corrugated board factory. Blanks are loaded into the machine's magazine. A transfer device picks a blank from the magazine, opens it out into the shape of a box, and closes the bottom either mechanically or by means of sticky tape or a hot-melt adhesive.

The Formeca HMY-series

The sturdy HMY machines can be used for making various types of transportation or retail packages at a rate of up to 50 boxes per minute. These machines can also be used in creation of systems with more than one track, depending on customer needs. In addition, tailored box models can be handled in response to customer-specific needs.
